Brevo is a great choice as a CRM for event organisers. In this guide, we'll walk you through getting your Brevo account setup and integrated with Evntree.

Why Brevo?

Not only is Brevo more affordable compared to alternatives like Mailchimp, but its setup is also straightforward, especially with its easy domain authentication process.

Creating your Brevo account

To begin, create an account at https://www.brevo.com/

To get the most out of your Brevo subscription, we recommend upgrading to the Business Plan which gives you access to additional marketing channels and automations which are crucial to your event marketing strategy.

Authenticating your domain

To improve open rates and to adhere to new requirements from Google and Yahoo, you should authenticate your domain.

If you do not already have a domain, we recommend purchasing one through Namecheap.

You can follow the steps in this article to complete the domain authentication.

Once complete, you should see a green check icon next to each of the records you will have added.

Finding your API key

Your API key is what allows Evntree to send registrations straight to your Brevo account. Always keep this safe and do not share with anybody else.

Head to https://app.brevo.com/settings/keys/api and create a new key

Copy this value as we'll need it for the next step. Once you close the popup you will not be able to see this value again due to security reasons.

Connecting with Evntree

Navigate to your organisation's settings, and then to the API keys tab.

Paste in your API key in the field labelled Brevo API Key then click Update.

To check that your API is working, click the Test Connection button and you should see a Brevo connection successful.

Choosing your list

Before sending data to Brevo, you will need to create a relevant list on the Lists page - https://app.brevo.com/contact/list-listing

Once you have created the list, it should now show in the dropdown on the Marketing tab when editing a page.

Your Evntree and Brevo should now be connected. When a user registers on your page, the data will automatically insert into your Brevo list.

Issues

If you face any issues with your integration, a common issue is Brevo automatically blocking certain IP addresses. You can head to https://app.brevo.com/security/authorised_ips and disable IP blocking.
